Dublin started as Riot’s engineering hub for Europe, supporting 9 different regions and working closely with the product managers and the player support teams. Type of projects: from low-level API work to a brand new eu.lolesports website, or even a tournament platform that’s rolled out globally.

Later, Dublin grew to an extended engineering team to Riot’s HQ in LA, getting responsibility of the League of Legends Infrastructure, working directly on content interaction within League of Legends, and preparing the launch of multiple new Games. Back then, League was attracting 100 mio players per month.

In this role I was responsible for building our Riot’s Engineering teams in Dublin. Main focus on sourcing, hunting, and selection on culture/values. Helped built the Infrastructure team (Networking, System Engineers) and Software Engineering (Java, NodeJS, JS) teams, contributing to gaining high profile / high impact projects. (i.e. Managing the total infrastructure of LoL and setting up a new team to work on in- content interaction)

Worked on the following positions:

  • Infrastructure Engineers (SRE, System Engineers, Network Engineers)
  • Lead Engineers
  • Engineering Manager
  • Back-end Engineers
  • Stack Engineers / Lead Engineers
  • Technical Director
